P.H. Probe Procedure

I should do P.H. probe next week. It’s because of stomach problems I’ve had during last two weeks. My doctor suspect on acid indigestion, and I hope it won’t be something more serious. Please tell me what P.H. Probe Procedure is like. Thanks.

I know what’s it like, I had it 5 days ago. In ph probe, thin tube is passed through your nose to the esophagus. There is small record machine attached to the end of the tube. And the tube is left in place for 18-24 hours. When the tube is removed, recorder is put into a computer and doctor will interpret the result. You shouldn’t be afraid; this is also done in children.
