Posted: 11/01/06 - 20:40 Post subject: Pain in left testicle or groin strain? |
|
|
Hi, 22 y/o male here,
About a week ago, I got this strange ache / pain feeling near my left testicle. I have checked for lumps and abnormalities but found nothing. I cant pinpoint whether the pain is in or near the testicle (in the scrotum) or some sort of groin strain. The last physical activity I did was change the oil in my car, which I had to squat for a while to do. Could this be the cause of the pain, or is it pointing to varicocele or some infection?
Im not sexually active, and the pain seems to be worse when I sit down. Walking is no hassles, I can barely feel it while walking. (I also have a slight nauseas feeling in the stomach when eating, but that might'nt be related.)
So, what could this be?? |

Can someone please help me with this problem, im starting to get worried.
Heres an update: The groin pain is mostly in the left side, but also can be less commonly in the right side. Sometimes I get an ache that goes down one or both legs, and have started to feel a bit weak... |

Simular problem here. Here is what the doctor has done for me. If anyone has any other coments. Please fill free to give advice. Thanks!
I am 72 years old and my Right testicle has swelled up and I recently found a 3/8 lump on right side. The lump is very tender and it is very painful. I have unbearable pain in my groin and scrotum. The pain continues to be felt going up and around my back (near my kidney). It continues to hurt with an aching pain that runs down my right leg just below my knee.
I sometimes have problems Urinating and it can also be very painful to pee.
I had this same problem 5 years ago. My urologist had me take 1 Flomax pill each day and it did not help. He then prescribed a bright purple pill that also did not help. I finally was put in the hospital and was feed me medicine by IV. After 4 days in the hospital the swelling went down and everything was normal again. The doctor told me to take Prosar and – Decreases the size of the prostate) Takes a Flomax – Helps your pee flow
For the last 5 years I have been taking 1 Proscar pill and 1 Flomax pill day. I have had a hard time peeing.
Recently I have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The doctor said they caught it early and treated me with 28 Radiations Treatment and then followed up with 2 Needle implant treatments where they inserted 18 needles below my scrotum and they pumped radiation through it. I just finished up with the needle treatments and that was when my swelling began.
My doctor wanted me to wait to see if the swelling would go down and told me to wait a week. The swelling did not go down and I asked him to put me in the hospital to feed medicine by IV. I was hoping this would help. The IV has been feeding me medicine the past 5 days and that has not helped. The pain is unbearable and I am ready to loose a Testicle if needed.
Please help provide some alternative solutions or advise so I maybe able to discuss this with my doctor. We are both at a loss and do not what to do next. |

| Ive got the same problem..we gotta get this one figured out..it sucks man! My left testicle wil generally irritate more than the right and while walking its okay! But I never feel comfortable..its always at least aching! I had a urine test done and doc said it was clear and he did a testicle exam an said he didnt feel any lumps!! Kinda worried though...he mentioned that he thinks I may have a angual hernia (sports hernia), I dont know what to do! oh by the way, not to get to graphic but does it feel like you kinda have blue balls or that you got kicked in the nuts but it wont go away? Also, after sex I feel a little better but then the pain comes right back! |

My husband has the same problem, they have found an infection and he is on antibiotics. CT and Ultrasound found nothing. Been two weeks, so far 4 days on anitibiotics slight improvement. You best get to your doctor for a urine test for infection. |

My husband is going through a similar thing. You best get to your doctor. He has a infection and is on antibiotics. CT scan and ultrasound came up with nothing. We beleive it all started with a pulled groin muscle. A urine test for infection will tell right away. You don't want to leave it, my husband waited a week before going in and he ended up in major pain. |

I've had a similar problem for years. The pain ebbs and flows in the left testicle. For me it's always brought on by strain and last October it became the worst it's ever been.
I've had urine tests, ultrasounds, tests for hernia, all negative. I've been to 3 urologists, a pain clinic, and 2 neurologists. I had a genitofemoral nerve block(created new soreness around the injection), a diagnosis of idiopathic orchialgia(which means "you're stuck with this"), a recommendation for a vasectomy, and another opinion that nothing can be done.
I'm taking Lyrica and Cymbalta which at least take the edge of the pain, but it's not fixing anything.
I'm seeing a physical therapist who does myofascial work (rectally) to try and loosen up tight pelvic floor muscles. She recommended a good book called "Headache in the Pelvis." So far, it's a good read and is giving me a little hope that this elusive problem could be cured.
There's also a possibility of PNE or Prudendal Nerve Entrapment, but that was discounted by the pain clinic and a neurologist in my case, but who knows, others might want to investigate this condition.
I sympathize to all those who are suffering. It affects work, relationships, mood, exercise, EVERYTHING. |

I have the same thing but find it comes on after a workout (fairly heavey with squats also) to aleviate the pain i take hot bathes that allow the testicle to desend. after it has returned to normal it seems there is always a bit of ejaculte on the tip after the first few times i pee.
I likewiase have been to the doctor and nothing shows up. |
