I have always had a ingrown toenail every since I broke my toe. This time it is bad. I went to a pedicurist and she cut the corner of the nail. There was short term relief but the pain and swelling soon worsened. Do I need surgery? What is the cost of the surgery to remove the part of the nail? And is it painful?

The only real way of dealing with this is to get it surgically removed. If you are on the NHS it is free but it could cost up to £200. This is because it is cut whilst you are on a local anesthetic. There is another option though, you can take some oral pills. Prescribed by your doctor you can get penicillin. I hope this helps! :DG41RYW
