Panic attacks after quitting weed

A close friend of mine stop smoking weed and about two weeks after he began to have what I would say is a panic attack based upon his syptoms. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what is the best way to cope with it.

Irritability, sleeplessness, and anxiety are common with long-term pot smokers trying to quit. Symptoms usually peak at about 1 week. This is likely just a phase of withdrawal.
