Hello. I'm 25 year old female and I have no kids. About three months ago I have noticed some strange vaginal discharge and some pelvic cramping. I knew immediately that something is wrong because I have never experienced any pelvic pain and my periods were always painless and regular.
So, I contacted my gynecologist who did some Papa testing and determined that I have developed some precancerous condition called cervical displasia III and that I it could be treated only surgically. Operation is called partial hysterectomy. I don’t know anything about this operation and some extra info would be more then appreciated.

Hello. I understand you are worried and that’s why I will try to provide you some facts you should know about this operation called partial hysterectomy. There are several types of hysterectomy such as partial, hysterectomy with ovarian conservation, hysterectomy with oophorectomy and radical or Wertheim's hysterectomy.
Sub-total or partial hysterectomy involves the removal of Fallopian tubes and the upper two-thirds of the uterus only, preserving the cervix. These days, this operation become routine and almost there is no risk connected with it. This operation can be done on three ways- abdominal, vaginal or laparoscopic. Of course, the laparoscopic approach will leave you the smallest scar. Talk with you doctor about your options.
