Hello,
I am 17; female. I really don’t know if this is a problem… when I am talking to my friends, I sometimes lie. I mean, I know we all lie for some reasons, but I tell them meaningless lies... like my mum was a hippie and then I make up a story or something stupid… later I am somehow ashamed of that.. I mean what if they find out? Why do I tell this lies? Am I a pathological liar?

Hey,
I think you are not a pathological liar. Although is hard to define a pathological liar. Pathological liar is a person who tells lies, but actually isn’t aware of them; Pathological liar actually believes in those lies. As I see it, you do not believe in those lies and are even ashamed of telling those lies.. I think you are normal person, who is aware when telling a lie, which doesn’t make you a Pathological liar Smile The question why you told a lie, I cannot answer. Maybe you wanted to look cool in front of your friends, I don’t know; it is up to you to find out. Smile
