I am about to have an artificial fertilization. For sperm donor I chose a friend of mine, because I have no life partner. My friend is a healthy, young man and he is a very kind and good to me. We decided to have our one child. The only problem is that he has pectus excavatum. Will our child have the same?

I have Pectus Excavatum myself. Because of that I tried to learn some more about it. Basically, no one knows the real cause of that. There are some opinions that it is caused by increased growth. Others find some statistic data that it is inherited condition or that happened occasionally. However no one can tell you with certainty whether your child has it or not. There is, of course, a good therapy for it.
