Penis Rings and Vaginal Bacterial Infections

Hi,
My boyfriend has his penis pierced. He has 3 rings on the underside of his penis. Recently, I have had two bacterial infections, which I've never had before. Could his penis rings be causing my increased vaginal infections? If so, what can we do about it (besides condoms, I'm on the pill so we don't have to use condoms).
