Period 2 days late, then bleeding/cramping 2 weeks after

OK so my girlfriend had her period 2 days later than expected right. It lasted 4 days, then stopped, and started again the 5th night and ended. 2 weeks later right at ovulation time she had cramps and was bleeding again, which also lasted 4 days. now 2 days later she is having HEAVY bleeding and cramping. If she had her regular period it would have been on the 21st, but she didnt have it, only mild cramping before. Any advice on this? Does she need to see a doctor?
