Period halfway through my cycle on Ortho-Tricyclin Lo

I've been taking Ortho Tri-cyclin lo for about two months now and I am halfway through my cycle and I got my period. I don't know if this is normal or if I am having complications with the pill. My period came as expected on the placebo pills about two weeks ago, but i started spotting and it turned into a full period. I'm concerned can somebody please tell me if this is normal. I'm halfway through the actual pills and i know im not supposed to get my cycle. I do not however have any of the symptoms of my period such as cramps or tenderness. Can anybody help me?
