Period is brownish and spotty??

I've never posted before but I need to know if anyone has experienced these issues. I'm 38 years old and I have been regular forever - 28 days but in the last 6 months I've been early a few days. This time I was supposed to start on March 22nd but didn't. I started to have a brownish discharge with a little burgandyish blood on the 24th and have the last 2 days but very spotty. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 3 years but he was diagnosed with Male Factor Infertility. I know we had sex 2x's during my "ovulation" time. I know it only takes one and it could be a miracle but I'm too scared to take a test. I don't want to be disappointed. We have gone through 1 unsucessful IVF treatment and it was devistating. I do feel crampy and I keep going to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I don't have sore breasts but I have had a bit of insomnia.

Does anyone have any idea?
