Hi there. The most common place for peritoneal nerve injury is the lateral aspect of the leg. I am sure that an EMG of the leg would give you a better picture if this should be done. In some cases, surgery isn't the solution. If symptoms are caused by some critical illness, then this illness may be critical illness polyneuropathy. That is about all I know.
