Three days ago, I was in the emergency as I had hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylate acid. It was shocking for me. I could not breathe, thought that I will die. In some point, doctor had give me Phenylephrine HCL and afterwards explained that it was necessary. I would like to know more about this drug. Anyone who can inform me?

Hi. Phenylephrine HCL is intended for the maintenance of blood pressure during anesthesia and for the treatment of different conditions including hypersensitivity to drugs. At therapeutic doses, Phenylephrine HCL has mainly post-synaptic alpha-adrenergic effects. The drug cause peripheral vasoconstriction with resultant increase in blood pressures with small decreases in cardiac output.
