What can induce pheochromacytoma? What is it exactly? My mother has had very high blood pressure last few months. She was diagnosed Pheochromacytoma 2 weeks ago. She has done some tests and is waiting for results. What’s the most important thing about this disease?
Pheochromocytoma is usually not cancerous tumour of adrenal medulla. It causes extensive production of adrenaline, and that is the reason of high blood pressure. This tumour can be removed by laparoscopy. It’s the standard treatment for pheochromocytoma. It requires 4 weeks recovery period.
