Hi, I had a heart surgery and since then, I have constipations. Since the doctor does not recommend me to strain my muscles (therefore I do not do that even when I defecate), doctor prescribed me with Phillips’ Liqui-Gel (Docusate sodium). I must admit that I have never heard of this med, or that anyone used it. Can you give me some info?

This product is stool softener, which means that it mixes stool with fat and water and by that it increases the stool volume, which activate and speeds up the intestine movements and that makes the defecation process much easier. So, I guess it will help you and there are no major side effects.
