As a child, i witnessed violence within the home.
I dont want your attention, and i dont want you sympathy.
-So save it, please.
All i want is some answers, and to be able to talk to someone who's been in my shoes.
My story.
I came home from school, and my mother had made our evening meal,
my dad came home bad tempered, and when he found out what my mum had made for tea, he threw his plate of food at the wall.
I jumped as the plate smashed, and let out a short scream as it hit the floor.
Later that night, when i was helping my younger brother with his homework, my dad came in the front room, and hit my brother across the face with the back of his hand because we wernt allowed pens in the room incase we got it on the sofa,
when in actual fact, i had braught the pen into the front room.
I still feel guilty from that night, because my brother got hit, when i never.
I still remember this night, it was over 6 years ago now.
Another time that i remember was when my mum had gone shopping,
and my dad called me and my brother down to wash the dishes.
I needed the toilet, and he shouted me back down,
I said i was just washing my hands and i'd be in a second.
I got to the bottom of the stairs, and my dad came around the corner and slapped me. When i tried to run away up the stairs, he grabbed my ankle which caused me to fall. I broke my arm trying to prevent me from falling down the stairs. I got made to do my share of the washing up, and my brothers share.
I told my mum i fell down the stairs, and she took me to the hospital to get an x-Ray. What i didnt tell her was that my dad had caused the fall.
I feel soo bitter towards my dad.
I beat myself up everyday blaming me for what happened to my brother.
There have been other evens of physical abuse, yet i dont feel comfortable talking about these in a public forum for anyone to read.
Would someone be able to talk to me, even as friends.
I dont mind if it's just because you feel sorry for me,
or you've experienced a situation like mine.
I'd just really like to talk. |
