I had a hammertoe repaired. The doctor suggested leaving the pin in my toe. It is now 4 months. My toe is still sensitive. I also get numbness in my metatarsal area. Have you ever heard of leaving a pin in your toe? Should I insist on its removal?

I have never heard of leaving a pin in the toe for such an extended time. I believe it should be removed. The surgery is nothing to be feared. Of course, there is recovery time and it is slightly uncomfortable but nothing to be scared about. Go for it. It will feel better than the toe problem prior to surgery. Very Happy
