I am a healthcare professional =)

We tell women to consider bleeding after PLAN B use a period.

You can use that info to time when your next period will come.

here's my situation:

on december, my cycle started on the 28th. unknowingly and unfortunately, my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex on january 14th, which was my fertility peak day. i took plan b 13 hours after coitus (and the 2nd pill 12 hours later). i started bleeding on january 28th so i'm assuming that was the start of my cycle.
it's been 11 days and i'm still bleeding - although considerably lighter than the first 4 days. i sometimes get abdominal cramps and headaches. i'm starting to get a little paranoid because such are signs of an ectopic pregnancy.

is the light/medium bleeding residual of my regular menstrual? please advise. thank you.

I had my period starting January 10th through the 16 and took the Plan B that following Friday (within 24 hrs of sex).
A week after taking the pill I had a full 7 day bleeding. Different than normal bleeding because it was as others described: Brown then bright, red-pink, but, it didn't taper of it just kinda stopped.
Referring back to the box paperwork on side effects I didn't really worry about it much since it said some bleeding afterwards was normal. But I did take note that it stated my period will start around the usual time or within it.

Now it has been just over a week from my normal start date and still no period. I wasn't sure if I should consider taking a pregnancy test or if I should just wait a bit longer? How soon can I get accurate pregnancy test results just for piece of mind?

I have had shortness of breath, over tiredness and have been eating faaaaaaaaaar more than I normally do. Which are also things I experienced when I was pregnant in the past but, not sure if that is normal with taking this type of birth control.

I will bookmark and check back and let you all know if I find out anything further as well.

Has anyone considered looking on the Plan B website? They have tons of information. The other place to get information is your doctor. Your PCP can directly answer specific personal questions.

i had sex during the 5th day of my period and the condom broke, so i went and got plan B. this was the first time i had taken the pill and about 4 days after i took the pill i got my period again. my period has alwayss been regular for my entire life and i am now bleeding again.

is this just an irregular period, or just bleeding because i took the pill?
and is this normal that I got my period AGAINN after 4 days of taking the pill when i had my period just like 10 days ago?

Please give me some input

It is normal after using Plan B to get a weird period that is different from your usual period, to get it at a different time, and to feel totally horrible. All those things are normal.

I took it on Saturday, it's Monday now, and I just feel like crying and eating and staying home and I'm super vulnerable. Oh, and nauseous. What kills me is that we use condoms so consistently; this one just slipped off. Sad

What I don't know is how long I'm going to feel like this. Do the side effects last a few days? A week? Until your next period?

If I have to feel like this until my next period I am going to have to hide under my bed until then...

Ok.. so i had sex with my boyfriend 2 weeks ago.. the condom broke.. and i went to get the morning after pill within 2 hours of it breaking. i hardly had any symptoms when i took the pills.. and i got my period exactly when i was supposed to.... but my breasts have been extremely swollen and tender for the entire duration of my period (this never happens), and the menstrual blood seems much different than when i usually get it. i dont know if i'm being paranoid.... but is this a normal side effect from the pill? or should i get a pregancy test?
