Hi everybody. My cousin have been recently diagnosed with PCP and I’m just wondering if anybody here could tell me something more about it?? What is it and how dangerous it is?? IS PCP contagious?? Thanks

Pneumocystis Carinii Pneumonia (or PCP) is infection of the lungs caused by the fungus Pneumocystis carinii. PCP is not contagious but it is the most common serious opportunistic infection associated with AIDS. The real question is weather your relative has AIDS, because that could be the case.
