Poisoning due to too much vitamin D?

Can you tell me something more about vitamin D? Actually, I am interested in poisoning due to too much vitamin D. I have heard that long exposure to sun might lead to increased level of vitamin D and that could result with poisoning. Is that true? I am planning on spending several months in Australia and I would just want to be prepared?

Well, it is true that too much sun bathing can increase level of vitamin D, but it really cannot lead to toxicity. Actually, toxicity is not that easily achieved, really high amounts of vitamin has to be taken. As for the sun, after the necessary amount of D has been created, precursor of vit. D is destroyed, so toxicity is impossible.
