Ok so I had a period on August 3rd. I had protected sex with by boyfriend a couple times after that. On August 14th I went on the Pill. Then on August 18th I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, however, I had only been on birth control for 5 days and I'm pretty sure it isn't effective until a week after starting to take it. Sooo.... that was my own fault for having unprotected sex.
Ok - on September 1st (which was about when it should start) I had what I think was my period. But, it was more brown and a lot lighter than usual. I had all the usual signs of my period (light cramps and sore breasts). This "period" only lasted a couple days, but today I started having some weird brown spotting again. It's pretty light, but it's still there....
Since August 14th (when I started the Pill) I've been taking it regularly and I haven't had sex since the 18th. How likely is it that I'm pregnant? I know I need to take a test, but I just want to get some opinions on whether or not I could be pregnant. I know theres a chance I am, but I haven't had any pregnancy signs - other than that weird "period." I'm hoping that it was weird because my body is adjusting to the Pill and not because I'm pregnant, but we shall see. Any thoughts are appreciated! |

Hi pointebeing,
Sometimes the bc pill can have some effects that are unexpected. In my opinion, I would take a pregnancy test. The bleeding sounds a little odd. Usually implantation bleeding can start like that.

The PILL CAUSES shorter and lighter than usual periods, so it is not abnormal that your period is lighter than normal.
A preganncy test can be taken if you like. |
