Hi there, I am a man who is 25 years old and I have a question. My father should have coronary artery bypass surgery in a couple of days. I was wondering what are complications of this surgery. I really need an answer fast because I would like to find out before the surgery. Thank you in advance.

Hello, first of all I know that you are worrying. Try to thing positive. I will tell you about some problems. The worst possible outcome is death due to myocardial infarction. There are many more like: infection or deep vain thrombosis, acute renal failure, keloid scarring or stroke during reperfusion. There are probably more. I wish all the best to your father.
