Hi all. There is a history of Huntington's disease in my family. However, few of them have been diagnosed with MS. Can anybody tell me if there is any known relationship between the two (MS and HD)?? Is it possible that they were misdiagnosed?
As far as I know there is no known relationship between HD and MS. Before the gene locus was determined it was very hard to confirm HD. It was even worse if there was no any family history. Anyway, even there is no know relationship, it is possible that few of those werenot misdiagnosed was common. I don’t know what kind of test they but I know that new gene tests along with clinical findings and family history can correctly diagnose it up to 95%.
