Hey all. Just want to talk to some people going through pre/post-op experiences as I don't personally know any adults going through this. Most people I know where kids when they had this done and don't remember.
I'm 22, a full-time student and I hold an internship and part-time job as well. Even as a kid, I was sick a lot.
I'm on anti-biotics all the time it seems, and have been sick 6 times in the past year. It always starts with swollen glands and my tonsils being infected, but ended in either just tonsillitis, strep, bronchitis, etc. I have taken and become immune to many antibiotics.
When I am sick, I usually miss a full week of work and school. I take vitamins, drink water and exercise. Nothing helps. I'm getting really frustrated and cannot stand knowing I will be sick sometime again within the next 2 months. My doctor has referred me to the ENT and I really feel like it might be time to get these babies out.
I have so many questions, and I wrote myself some notes of things to tell the doctor and questions I want to ask.
I appreciate any feedback. Have any of you had the same experienes I've had so far? My appointment is on Tuesday June 3 and you can bet I'll post more if we decide the surgery is needed, and during recovery.
