Most of the people after receiving a new kidney recover fully on 2-3 months. They can return to normal life routine, work, activities…. She would have to visit her doctor quite often for follow-up visits, and he will be monitored carefully to make sure her new kidney is functioning properly. In post transplantation period she will participate in a regular schedule of diagnostic and medical care, including physical examinations, complete blood, urine, and X-ray analysis, review of medications, dental care with antibiotic prophylaxis, and annual eye exams and, for women, gynecologic care.

lots ots of doctors visits, lots of pills, having to arrange your life around your meds AND watching your weight. If your wife goes on steroids she HAS TO HAS TO HAS TO watch what she eats. I cannot emphasize on this enough. I watched what I ate and I look very normal (not how I used to look but close). I ate NO junkfood for months and it worked out for the best. Small portions and no desserts period. Thats how I did it and it worked. Look up moon face on the internet and you'll see what will happen with a bad diet.

Oh and after surgery getting up and moving ASAP is great for recovery. 10 days after my transplant I walked around the mall with my friend.
