Is it normal to feel numbness in certain areas of the left side of my body 4 days after a microdiscectomy? The numbness is in my left leg and my groin.

I too had the operation at St Vincents private. If it wasnt for the operation the nerve would have been damaged forever and I would have been lame. Pain is more of a discomfort to me at the moment 2 weeks after operation but there is a little numbness but not much. I exersize but think its important not to step too far outside the targets the medical people set for you. Information ststes that there are a large amount of success with this operation but usually you wil mostly read about the failures. The successess are out dancing lol good luck keep me informed on progress. I have a man at work with me who had it and is a lot better plays sport etc. It is important to keep positive. Trust me.
