Hi, this surgery is not complicated and it is very safe. However, every surgery has some level of risk. Patients usually spend the post-op period resting, because they’re in pain. Some possible complications are vomiting, fever, swallowing problems, ear pain and throat pain, but don’t worry because chances for something like this are small. Don’t hesitate to ask any post-op question, because it’s always better if you’re informed on time. Tell your son not to take anything the evening before the surgery, even the chewing gum, water or toothpaste. Anesthesia could cause vomiting, and it would be dangerous. Once when your son removes his tonsils and when the post-op period ends, he wont be having breathing difficulties again.
