|
|
| I had my gallbladder taken out on June 1st, and let me tell you--I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER! Everything about me is healthier. My skin is clearing up, I wake up feeling wonderful every morning (this morning I woke up slightly nauseated though, but I used the bathroom and felt much better), and I no longer live in fear of gallbladder attacks. I had the lap-choly so I only have four small incisions, and they are healing nicely. I was in the hospital for a few hours and got to go home the same day. Only had the gas pains the first two nights and they were nothing too horrible. After reading all the horror stories on this board, I', just glad I can say I'm one of the lucky ones... I hope everyone gets help! |

|

| Well it will be a week tomorrow I had my gallbladder out. I was in and out of the hospital same day. I am still sore but am healing ok. So far the eating has been good and nothing has bothered me. I am however swollen still and feel bloated. I was able to return to work yesterday- I work at a desk so it's not so bad. I actually tried capris on yesterday and walked out because nothing fit in my stomach - so I will just have to wait. |

I had my gallbladder out last Thursday. Recovery is good....but as the nurses told me this is major surgery so don't beat yourself up if you're not feeling 100% in a week. It'll take time. I am suffering from heartburn.....and of course my 4 holes are bothering me _ itchy and sore. I hope I don't get the 'D' problem everyone talks about. So far ..not bad!
I think being tired is normal. I am taking afternoon naps. |

| Im 21 and i had my gallbladder taken out a week ago, i recovered really quickly, i was walking around the same day and came out of hospital 2 days after my op (would of been out the next day but had a bad time coming off morphine). I took a week off work to recover but found after 4 days of op i could walk instead of waddle and found housework and everyday things were do able - they took longer than normal. Im am still slightly bloated and sore but its not bad enough to stop me going to work or doing everyday things! I just wanted to reassure anyone who ia having or just had the op as not everyone has a bad time post op. thanks for listening. |

Hi I had my gallbladder removed justover 2 weeks ago after months of aganising pain and visits to A&E. the gallbladder was inflamed and i had to have iv antibiotics and stop inhospital nearly 2 weeks. The surgery went well so i was told and was sent home the day after which suited me fine. i was sore but expected to be. Less than a week after i had the most terrible pain againalmost the same as the gallbladder attack. inhospital once again i had a scan which confirmed i had a small collection of blood around the site where the gallbladder was. I was treated with further antibiotics which seemed to do the trick. I still feel tender, and now i am experiancing a niggling pain near where the gallbladder should be which goes through to my back. It doesnt warrant strong pain killers however im worried this is goin to get worse. I have booked to go on holiday in 4 weeks and im terrified i shall get ill whilst there.
Does anyone else have the same problem? |

Since writting the above i cannow say that the pain i sufferd has now subsided. Its true what they say, it takes a good few weeks for things to settle down. Im now feeling fine. Those who say " you will be up and about feeling fine in days" are not being very realistic and everybody recovers different.
Hope this has helped someone at least. |

| I had my gallbladder removed on 6/21/2007. I went home that day and felt great for 2 days. On the 3rd to about the 8th day I felt pretty good but really really tired. For the past few days I have felt back to normal. I was on a liquid diet for 14 days prior to my surgery and was really ready for "food". After a few days I started eating whatever I wanted, just smaller quantities and have had no problems.....this includes half of a bacon cheeseburger which would have made me soooo sick before surgery. I was afraid of complications after the surgery but made sure that I researched my Dr. and followed all instructions before & after....good luck to anyone getting ready....it's worth it..I feel human again. |

I had my gallbladder out last Tues 8=28-07, my 4 holes are healing great, a little red and itchy but not oozing... I've been nauseated off & on, got a prescription for that... I came home same day as the surgery, the pain was not bad, as long as I kept up with the meds, however, the bloated, swollen feeling is weird, i cant get my jeans on , I havent lost weight, even tho im barely eating, & havent gained... so Im wondering what the swelling is all about, bending over is tricky ! From others who have had this claim it takes longer than a week to feel back to normal !! good luck all |

| I had my gallbladder out on 8-28-07. I was told how easy the surgery was and such a quick recovery. Its been almost 2 weeks and I still get sore and I am experiencing bloating and swelling also. Previously I have lost 40lbs and now I feel my clothes are tight. I went back to work 1 week after the surgery and I am a sp. ed teacher for 5 year olds, needless to say I stand and bend all day long. My doctor assured me it was okay to work. Big mistake. My stomach swelled and was sore my 2nd day back to work. I was in tears. I feel this is still a surgery and they expect us to recovery so quickly. Maybe we all need extra time. I am not superhuman either and I've had 3 children naturally.(I at least got 6 wks recovery for that).[list] |

I had my gallblader removed just over two weeks ago. on 9-24-2007. I was not fortunet enough to have the laperoscopy done because my gallblader was to swollen, they had to do it the old fashion way by cutting me open.
I too fell swollen and I am still in a bit of pain. I am onl comfortable n pajama pants that are big on me, and bggy t-shirts. I have lost 13 pounds so far and tried on the skirt an dtop for my friends wedding, and the top fits worse than it did before the surgery.
I hope the blotting goes a way really soon. I only have 6 weeks know before the wedding |
