I am 26 years old and have undergone a kidney-pancreas transplant in November 05. I have never been pregnant before, and now my husband and I are trying. I was given the green light in December, but nothing has happened yet. I went to my OB and everything is how it's supposed to be... like I said "green light". Now we are just waiting for nature to take it's course. I was wondering if anyone out there has had a normal healthy pregnancy after transplantation and how long it took? The are possibly going to put me on hormones if I do not get pregnant within 6 months, anyone else have the same issues??

well, it's normal to go on hormonal treatment ater 6 months. I wish you all the luck and I would love it if you let us know how things worked out. If everything turns out beautifully for you (im sure it will) it will give the young ladies here some great hope of having our own family one day. good luck!!!!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
hi, just to say.... i had a transplant in jan 2003 and was told I couldn't have more children! I moved to Scotland and asked at my new hospital after a while and after some discussion with consultants we wll decided it was worth a go.... After I got the green light I fell pregnant within a month??? that was a big shock and I was a bit scared incase I'd made the wrong decision. I suppose I thought that it would never happen as my periods stopped for a long time and I'd spent a while with no contraception and never fell pregnant (silly!). I am now 6 months pregnant and soooooo excited! I'm fine so far and the baby is kicking well. I've got a bit protein in my urine and slight shows of increased glucose and I may have to go into hospital for bed rest in 4 weeks...hopefully not! I'm also still working hard as a support worker for people with learning difficulties...not bad eh?

I am still in the process of trying to conceive. Since the last post, I underwent Laprascopis surgery to see if anything was wrong. Come to find out, I have endometriosis. Alot of scar tissue. My OB removed as much as he could and put me on clomid for 2 months. This, however, was a huge mistake. It made my endometriosis alot worse. Pain during and after intercourse that resulted in vomiting and diarrhea. I stopped it and am now trying naturally. Alot of stress in my life, I believe is what is holding me back. The wierd thing right now, is I had a period starting 12/31/07 and then on 1/26/08, that seemed normal.. but then every day since the 2nd of February I have been spotting, not heavily, mainly after intercourse and when I wipe it's kind of pink with some discharge. Anyone else have this problem?? I took a HPT on 2/7/08 of course, as usual negative, but I have never had this problem for this long. Like I said, mainly after intercourse.. Help??
