Post tonsillectomy salty taste

I had a tonsillectomy a month ago. post op my tongue hurt really badly and then I noticed every thing tasted salty and occasionally sweet at the same time. The taste is still there constantly a month later At times it gets really nauseating, my GP just dismissed it as trivial but I am lossing weight and am depressed by this. I have no desire to eat and i am a good cook so this makes it worse. Will this go away Question
