Precautions when taking chloramphenicol

I went to doctor today and he told me that I have conjunctivitis. It’s bacterial infection and he prescribed to me chloramphenicol eye drops. I’ve never used this medication before. So, can somebody tell me what are the precautions when taking chloramphenicol, please? I didn’t use it yet. Something important that I need to know?

The best way is to follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. If your symptoms do not improve within a few days, or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Be careful because chloramphenicol has many side effects. So, if you notice something strange, call your doctor.
