| I only had one shot of depo in aug 2006. I had persistant bleeding even after I discontinued the shot and had to visit my GP to stop it. I started kind of bleeding 01.03.07 (my prior bleed started 23.12.06) but it isnt stopping so to say, Im kind of spotting. I fhtis hasnt stopped by the end of next week, I will again see my GP. My GP didnt warn me about my fertility levels after the shot, and how long it can take for them to return. Im 24, will be 25 by the time I should be able to concieve and 26 when I give birth, should it happen that way. I was 23 when I had my one lethal shot. Fom the sound of it you have children already, I envy you, I fear Ive messed everything up for us. Its the only thing I regret in my life - taking that fatal shot! never ever again! |

I too took the shot after giving birth to my first son but Iwas 16 then and Ihad no side affects. After a year of the shot I discontinued and bled for two months then my menstrual returned to normal for me. Five years later I gave birth to my second son who is nine months now so it worked out perfect for me. Only thing is now I am back on the shot but I only had one and I have been bleeding for three months non-stop now. I think it has an effect only on women 21 and older. My younger sister is 19 she is on it and doesn't have any of these problems. I will never take it again myself, I have decided to let mother nature take its course from now on besides Im a married women so its okay. I definetly would not recommend it to anyone, thats for sure. |

| I have been on the depo shot for about 9 months now and my next is due in August. I am definitly not getting it though. I am so miserable on the shot especially cuz ive gained about 50 pounds since ive been on it. Ive always ate the same way i havent changed anything, i know its the shot. What i dont know is how long it takes for the shot to wear off and how easy it will actually be to lose the weight afterwards! If anyone has any tips or suggestions, i would really appreciate it! |
