Alright, I've been reading a lot of other people's posts to get some feedback, but perhaps some of you could help me:
First of all, I am 21. On December 4th (day 9-10 of my cycle), I had sex with my boyfriend. It was my very first time (felt we were ready), and we used a condom (very positive it didn't break), and I am on the pill. I take it every morning to make sure it is accurate. Anyway, a few days later (December 7th - day 14 ish), I started getting pains in my lower abdomen, and have felt bloated, etc. I went to the doctor and they said it was a viral infection, so they told me to just rest, drink fluids, etc. So the bloating continued...around day...24, I had went out for some food and out to the bars with some friends (I'm a college student btw), later that night I threw up constantly. I am assuming I got some type of food poisoning, as it felt like I had the flu.
Anyway...day 29 of my cycle comes around, I get my period. Yay! However...it is lighter than usual. I bled for about 2, 3 days max with red period-like blood, then for the rest of my days on my cycle, it was brown blood all the way. It was lighter than my normal periods to say the least.
I have taken 3 home pregnancy tests, all of which negative (one was like 2 weeks before my period - I'm very worried about it, another day before my period, and one a few days before that). I am on a new pack of pills, on day 9 of my cycle. I have had a slight headache, some vaginal discharge that started very shortly after my period, abdominal cramps (although it might be bowel related, as I am feeling slightly constipated, and some diarrhea), slight nausea, some discomfort around my navel, and my left breast has been sensitive for some reason. The abdominal stuff doesn't usually come up until after I eat something, as well. I went to the doctor in mid December as well, and they checked for ovarian cysts, ruled that out (my mom gets them). Although anything is possible I'm sure.
After all this, is there any chance in the world that I could be pregnant? I am most definitely sure I am not, I just thought I'd get more opinions on this. I plan on taking another pregnancy test tomorrow, so that will hopefully ease my fear. I am really scared I am, and it's hard not to think about it. My boyfriend and my mom (as well as many other friends) have reassured me so many times, and I just want to move on with my life. I don't plan on making this thing a habit and it worries me to death. Please help me out, thank you.

It's easy to be scared about it, especially if you just lost your virginity.
It is possible to get a light period after you get pregnant, yes. However, women can also get symptoms like you're describing soon after they lose their virginity because the body is experiencing sex for the first time. It doesn't happen to all women, but it can. Chances are, this is what's occurring and not pregnancy. You should be fine. |
