Hello, I am 29 years old and I am trying to get pregnant. I would like to know how to reduce the risks of a premature birth? What I can do or not in that purpose.

If you are trying to get pregnant and you want to reduce risk of premature birth you should focus on healthy behaviors. Risk factors and behaviors that might lead to preterm birth are: overweight or underweight, nutrition and exercise, smoking, drinking alcohol or using illicit drugs or other unhealthy behaviors that can lead to negative pregnancy outcomes, also medical conditions, including hypertension or diabetes, which can affect a pregnancy. Start taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid before you become pregnant to reduce the risk of birth defects to the brain and spine known as neural tube defects!
