Prevention of Munchausen syndrome

Few days ago I watched some program about Munchausen syndrome. Since then I started to think than my father is suffering of this syndrome. I’m not sure that I know what is difference between Munchausen syndrome and hypochondria. And tell me, please, how we can prevent of Munchausen syndrome. Thanks!

Munchausen syndrome isn't the same as hypochondria. People with hypochondria truly believe they are sick, whereas people with Munchausen aren't sick but they want to be. Unfortunately, there's no known way to prevent Munchausen syndrome. Only you can do is try to recognize early signs and symptoms and starting treatment before the condition worsens.
