My boyfriend asked me to find out something more about primary schlerosing cholangitis. It looks like his brother has this disease. He didn't tell me much, only that his brother has pain in abdomen and fewer. I would like to know what Primary Schlerosing Cholangitis is. Also I would like to know what is causing this.

This condition is inflammation and eventually scarring and obstruction of bile ducts. During the time bile ducts narrows and the bile float is interrupted. It can finally lead to cirrhosis. The experts believe that it is autoimmune disease. It is more often in people with inflammatory bowel disease. The cause of Primary Schlerosing Cholangitis is unknown.
