Primary treatment for Dependent personality disorder

Hello, my wife and I are very concerned for our 18 year old daughter. We always thought that she is a bit shyer, but it looks like she is suffering from dependent personality disorder. At least that is what we have been told after the first examination and talk wit a specialist. If that really is the case, can you tell us about the primary treatment for this condition?

Well, usually people that suffer from this disorder come from families where they have been surrounded by love and affection (although this does not go for all the cases). Patients can open up easily to therapist (due to the nature of disorder) and with the additional help from medications, fast improvement is very possible.
