Problem after skipping the sugar pills.

About two months ago, I was going on vacation, and my period was due, so I was told by my pharmacist that I could skip my period by forgoing the plecebos, and starting right on my pill again. I did that, but last month my period was a week late, and this month it is about a week late. I was just wondering if this was normal, and if anyone else who has skipped the plecebos had this problem, and how long until it straightens out again?
