Problems with Azathioprine (Imuran)

I am having problems with Azathioprine (Imuran). I know that I must use Imuran, but it is so difficult. Every time I take this medication, I vomit. I even think that the drug dont get in to my stomach it is all ready out. In other cases I do not vomit, but I get abdominal pain and diarrhea. What to do?

You didnt say how often you take Imuran. Some people, who also have problems with this drug, are taking it once daily. I am taking it twice a day and in the middle of my meal. If you take Imuran like that drug itself would be surrounded with food. If drug is surrounded with food, drug would not be able to irritate you stomach and you will be free of problems.
