Hi,

Has anyone of you removed successfully dry skin on your heels? Mine is really terrible and I've tried several things (stones, scrubs, exfoliating scrubs, soaking my feet then scrubbing them, lotions, applying petroleum jelly), but at the end nothing works at all. My feet are so cracked and I’m desperately trying to fix this. Please let me know how can I make this go away? I want to have smooth heels like I was younger, of course I know it’s not possible to go back with time machine, but I hope that some method exists. Let me know and help me with your suggestions how to get rid off dry skin and dry and cracked heels.

Thanks in advance ...

Try to ask your dermatologist, I think he’s most competent to help you with dry skin and heels

The pumice stone didn’t help me. I found that I needed something that was. I found a foot scraper that works great because it’s more rough and durable in taking off the skin. It’s simple to find this at any drug store or any other store that sells foot products. This is a white scraper and handle is on the other end looks like a fine cheese grater that can detach so you can clean it. On the other side is a finer surface so when you are done rubbing dead skin off with the grate side then you can smooth it out. I started out using it every time I showered. I felt identically like you now, so I hope this will help you.

On my last pedicure session the lady used an electric pumice stone on my feet and they were smooth for days. This worked the best for me, although I tried all sorts of creams and lotions but nothing helped to get smooth heels like this. I decide to do this every now and then when I feel my feet are dry and rough.

I’ve also tried lotion for diabetics, although you are not one of them but I could help you because those products are more potent then usual lotions and creams. You can get them at every Walmart where the testing strips are. Give it a try ...

I do a foot soak every 2 weeks and use a callous shaver to gently remove thick dead skin. I then use a pumice stone and then apply castor oil to my feet. I have not had a problem since. Castor oil penetrates the skin quickly and retains moisture, some petroleum based products only leave a slick layer on top of the skin and actually draw out moisture from your skin leaving you worse off in the end. Nivea cream is also good because it penetrates quickly.
