Prolonged Testicle pain One side

I ent horse riding about 2 months ago, and appreciated that a little aching was almost expected after so long out of the saddle, however the pain has stayed with me, on/in/around my left testicle. Previous pain, on the right hand side was diagnosed as a varacous vein, ut that side is unaffected, and pain free. What other injury might I have sustained?.. the testicle is firm, but the suriunding tissue is 'mushy' but is also 'mushy' on the RHS.
