What is a prostatebiopsy and does it mean that I have cancer? I have schedules prostate biopsy for next week, as my doc ordered. What they are going to do. I never have done it before.
Like the other biopsies a prostate biopsy is a procedure in which prostate gland tissue samples are removed with a special biopsy needle or during surgery to determine if cancer or other abnormal cells are present. You need to do this because the diagnosis of cancer is confirmed only by a biopsy. There are few methods that they can perform.
