How common is surgery needed in prostititas? My husband was diagnosed Prostititas several months ago. He has been on antibiotics since than. He feels bad. He has pain in groins and difficulties to urinate. Should he have a surgery?

Maybe he needs dose adjustment. Bacterial prostatitis is usually successfully treated with antibiotics and surgery is rarely needed. That’s what I know. Therapy lasts for few months and in severe forms it requires hospitalization. Pain killers like naproxen or ibuprofen are indicated in treatment of symptoms in prostatitis.
