Apparently I have a Pterygoid hamulus of medial plate problem. The oral surgeon did not take an xray but was guessing that is what I have noticed on the roof of my mouth.

He thought perhaps I injured it while eating and the tissue surrounding it was sensitive and slow to heal. However, it's been over a month since I visited and it hasn't gotten any better. In fact it seems as if it might be colliding with something else under the soft palate.

Is it possible for wisdom teeth to push up against such a structure and cause some discomfort,pressure and swelling? It seems as if it is continuing to malform. It feels like a bump on the back of the roof of your mouth just past where the row of teeth end and in just a little.

Can this be a bigger potential problem if not treated soon?
