There are other causes of pale stools, it is not necessarily due to gallstones presence. However, if you have already been diagnosed with gallstones, then it is certainly them to blame.
Small gallstones may be and often are asymptomatic but there still could be a decrease in the bile output, which makes the stool pale.
When there is an increased fat in the waste, which was not digested properly, the stool may become pale, as well as soft, flat and difficult to flush.
Also, the use of antacids with aluminum hydroxide, drugs that control and balance acids and gas in the stomach may be turning your stool pale but could also barium enema test. |
