Hi, my daughters, twins, 5 years old, have recurring UTI for several months. They do everything together even take a bath together. My youngest daughter has been diagnosed with thrush. I wonder if she may be reinfected her sister?

Thrush is a fungal infection, which is not spread from one person to another by sharing baths. So, your daughters are not reinfected one other. You can try some antifungal creams to apply localy, if you suspect it is present on a skin. But, I suppose it is more likely that the infection is spreading from inside. So, try some antiseptic medications for urinary tract. Nystatin has shown good results in treatment of thrush. Also, try to increase in take of yoghurt in their diet to provide microbial balance in digestive system and whole body. A disease needs to be treated in the root and as you still don’t know exactly the source, when you find out what is causung the trouble it would be more easier to deal with the disease.
