Rectal prolapse surgery - what type is best????

I have been diagnosed with Rectal Prolapse and Rectocele. My surgeon is sending me to a gynecologist for her to "stitch" around the outside and help "hold things in." I'm worried about this. A LOT of my intestines protrude when I have a movement. I think just tightening the outside will cause more straining for "anything" to get through the prolapsed intestine. It seems like the "falling" intestines would just bunch up and make things more difficult.

I don't want to have to go through more than one surgery to correct this. I have had this problem for more than 3 years and I'm worried? Any advice??? Confused
