Posted: 05/06/06 - 23:17 Post subject: Recurring "Blood vessel popping" feeling in neck |
|
|
Every one or two days a month for the last three months, I've been getting this sudden "popping" or "bursting blood vessel" feeling in my neck. I was out of country and visited a doctor in Singapore, she said I had a little bit of blood in the back of my throat, a slightly swollen area on the neck I felt it and that was it. She said I have some type of strep, but I dont think that takes into account the regular bursting feeling on the side of my throat. It only happens for a second and disappears and I feel fine after the momentary unpleasantness, but it has been regularly occuring about once a month.
Any ideas?.... (yes, I'm going to the doctor this week) |

Well, this could be a strep throat as you have these pains in your throat, but I have been wondering if you have felt some other symptoms such as fever or red and swollen tonsils? Some people could even get some pretty bad bumps in the back of their throat and these could make difficulties swallowing or even breathing. I once had streptococcus and was treating them for like 2 weeks, I took antibiotics, of course.
What I am surprised is that this feeling of having pain in your neck is occurring occasionally, you should visit your doctor immediately, as it wouldn’t be a good idea to have the symptoms for ages and eventually be diagnosed with some serious condition, for instance it could be tonsillitis, as well. You should have your tonsils checked so that you make sure these are fine. What other symptoms have you got? Have you notices something else other than neck pain, for example headaches or stomachaches? You should now pay a good attention to what is going on with you so that the doc could set a proper diagnose. |
