Red Spot on Penis

I am a 44 year old happily married man.
Recently I have noticed that a red spot has developed on the right side on the head of my penis. It does not itch or cause any complications. i thought that it may be a rash or an allegric reation to something. It has me concerned because it become more noticably after sex. As I have stated, it does not itch or burn or peal. It just semd to appear. I have been married for thirteen years, and have only have sex with my wife. It is quite supprising to me, because it just appeared out of the blue. I would appreciate any feedback. Im just hoping it's not something serious.

Hi! I had the same thing going on about 6 months ago. I was concerned about STD’s, so I went to see an urologist who told me it was just an irritation, probably from rubbing and that it should go away on its own in a few weeks but that I should come back if the symptoms persisted.

I didn’t have just one spot, I had a few red spots all over my glans. Then some time after I started experiencing cracking skin. This was when I got paranoid. I went to see a dermatologist.

She found I suffered from balanitis, a glans inflammation, and not an std. She did some sort of biopsy and determined it was a fungal infection.
Fungus is already present on our skin but sometimes can overgrow and cause such symptoms. Fungus overgrows when the area where they live is moist and warm and especially if you have foreskin that you don’t clean under so often or oppositely clean excessively with harsh soaps.

Balantis can also be caused by bacteria or eczema or even worse skin condition called psoriasis. Is this red spot the only symptoms you have?

You can develop balanitis even if you’re circumcised.
