Red Spot on tongue and now bleeding

I have had this red spot on my tongue for years. It bled one time about 3 years ago when pregnant with my first child but it quite and I never had a problem again until several months ago when it bled for almost an hour one evening and I was again pregant. I started to think that whatever it was the bleeding was hormonal. It finally stopped after putting pressure on it and laying down. I did then go to my family doctor who said he had no idea what it was but to try a dermatologist. I did not have any more problems and being pregant I had many other appointments so I never pursured it further. Now I had my baby 9 weeks ago and last night out of the blue my tongue started bleeding but quickly stopped. Then today it stared again and I was really gushing. I could not get it to stop for an hour and 1/2. I finally got it to quit and ate some lunch shortly after and then it started bleeding again. It again took over an hour to stop and bled a lot. I waited an hour before drinking something but that seemed ot set it off again only this time it bled a little less and I got it to stop lot faster. I was about to go to the ER but since it seemed better I decided to forgo the ER and endless hours there. It is a Sunday so I cannot just call a DR. I am concerned about this and it coming back and I go back to work tomorrow after being on maternity leave for 9 weeks.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Follow your doctor's advice and see a dermatologist.
